| TORREY TRUST, CEO Surf eCo, Surf Instructor
The Background of Surf eCo (by Torrey): I first visited Costa Rica in 2001 and, to me, it was just one spectacular gigantic rainforest. However, when I returned to Costa Rica 6 years later, I was shocked by the increasing developments and logged forests. I knew I had to do something to help save the Rainforests.

After watching Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth and realizing the detrimental impact humans are having on the environment, I decided that I needed to do something to help preserve the environment so future generations will be able to enjoy its beauty.
I was first inspired in 1994, when my dad raised $10,000 and saved over 200 acres of rainforest in Ecuador with the help of his Biology students. So I combined my two passions - surfing and the environment - to create an eco-friendly surf school with a main purpose of raising money to save acres of rainforest.
